Xi’s Threshold project shows an understanding of the brief. The idea of breaking out from existing edges such as handrails and walls is a strong one, and also quite interesting. Her threshold is made from steel and glass which twists and pulls the handrail into curves leading from the studio to the courtyard, and transforms the studio walls. A possible opportunity missed was to look into how else people might interact with the threshold – could people walk on it? It could be something to explore further. Well done on your project!
